June 2007 - failing teeth replaced with a fixed implant-supported bridgeThis lady in her early thirties suffered from a particular aggressive for of periodontal disease, damaging the bone supporting the teeth.
She complained of her teeth becoming loose, and gaps appearing between them. In spite of the aggressive infection, she never complained of any pain. Her upper teeth could not be saved, and we decided to replace them with a fixed implant-supported bridge.
Her teeth were extracted, and six implants placed directly into the sockets. A fixed temporary implant-supported bridge was fitted onto the implants on the same day. She was never without teeth, and never had to wear a denture. The temporary bridge was in place for four months before her final porcelain
bridge was fitted.
