March 2007 - root canal treatment,
bleaching & veneers
This lady requested a second opinion on the chronic abscess on her lower
left front tooth. Her previous dentist recommended surgical removal of the
abscess. She also wanted the appearance of her front teeth improved. She
wasn’t satisfied with the bulky appearance of the existing veneers
on her two upper front teeth, and with the uneven gum contour.
The abscess was resolved by simply repeating the root canal treatment in
this tooth. Her teeth were then bleached, and the gum contour corrected
by doing a small amount of surgical crown lengthening. Porcelain veneers
were then fitted on the four upper front teeth to create a harmonious and
pleasing smile.
