| A dental implant is an artificial tooth placed
in the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. It is a metal screw
which is placed into the jaw bone during a small surgical procedure. Placing the implant is straight forward, and usually results in less post procedure soreness than having a tooth extracted.
